Portofino

Portofino, famous all over the word, is not only a marvelous fishermen village, nowadays it's a bit snobbish for
the presence of artists, actors and famous people with their yachts, and so a bit expensive, but it's an obliged stop
for visiting the Promontory, the Natural Park and the protected Marine Area.

From Deiva Marina to Portofino
the distance is of about 30 Km, but it changes according to your choice of reaching it:
by motorway, along the state road Aurelia or by train.

How can you reach Portofino by car or by motorbike?
You reach it from Santa Margherita Ligure, even if the road is a bit narrow
and curvy and the nearest exit of the motorway is Rapallo.

How can you reach it by bike?
If trained you can reach it from Deiva Marina by mountain bike, but the right suggestion is to shorten the journey
using the train, paying attention on catching the train where the transport of bikes is allowed.
You can get off in Riva Trigoso, Sestri Levante, Lavagna, Chiavari, Zoagli, Rapallo, or Santa Margherita.

How can you reach it by train?
You easily reach it by getting off in Santa Margherita and going on by bus
which stops every half an hour at the train station square.

How can you reach it by boat?
From Santa Margherita there are several routes a day during high season
but few or none in winter and with bad weather/ sea conditions.
The journey is about 20 minutes long.

How can you reach Santa Margherita by foot?
you reach it easily following the route of cars, it has the sidewalk but for a short stretch.
The path is very panoramic and it's 1 hour long.

To visit in Portofino and surroundings:
the village Portofino, the hamlet San Fruttuoso (you reach it only on foot or by boat), Camogli
(reachable by train, car or boat), San Rocco, (by car or walking), Paraggi,(by car or by foot.

The walking path in Portofino's Park:
the park is crossed by beautiful and panoramic paths.
Except one a bit difficult, the paths are suitable also for children.

From Portofino to the Lighthouse:
very easy, you walk along a paved lane for 15 minutes.

From Portofino to San Fruttuoso:
easy, duration 1 hour and 30 minutes.

From San Fruttuoso to Camogli:
there are 2 options, one is quite easy and one difficult, not suitable for children and not trained people.

Suggestions for the excursions: except for the path to the lighthouse, it is useless to return along the same walking trail.
